Keio Plaza Hotel is one of Tokyo Disney Resort's "Good Neighbor Hotel" which offer complimentary bus service to and from Disney Resort. The earliest bus to Disneyland was at 6 am so we woke up really early, we just had four and a half hours of sleep.
Travel time to Disneyland is about one hour.
There was a typhoon coming on that day and it was raining but it didnt keep the tourists from going to Disneyland. At 7 am there were already a lot of people at the gates waiting for the park to open.
When the gates finally opened everyone were all dashing inside. As if everyone heard a gun shot at the start of a marathon. LOL.
Tokyo Disneyland is extremely clean and well kept.
fast pass dispenser |
Hubs went to Blue Bayou to make a reservation for dinner while my daughter and i went to get the Fastpass for the Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek. After getting the fastpass we hurriedly went to Pooh's Hunny Hunt, we've tried this before in Hong Kong Disneyland but we want to see if there's any difference, and as expected the effects are much better and the ride itself was a bit longer.
Since the park just opened, the line was very minimal.

we bought a popcorn bucket for Y2,000 (HK$128/ PHP738) then Y500 (HK$32/ PHP 184.50) for popcorn refill |
After this, we went to the Carousel, Dumbo and Alice in Wonderland Tea Party ride.
It was time to use the Fastpass for Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek so we headed there right away.
Fastpass is a system that lets you minimize the amount of time waiting in line at certain attractions by assigning you a specific time to enter the attraction. To receive a fastpass ticket, just go to the fastpass ticketing machines near the entrance of the fastpass attraction you want to ride and hold your Passport ticket under the reader. Then return during the time period printed on the fatspass ticket and enjoy the attraction without the wait.
We bypassed most of the waiting and jumped into the monster mobile. In the Ride & Go Seek storyline, guests are participating in a game of flashlight tag. Riders use flashlights, attached to the ride vehicles, to find monsters and people hiding in the Monsters Inc. factory and in Monstropolis. When the flashlight is shone on a hider, the person or monster reveals him or herself. The game felt somewhat similar to Astro Blasters at Disneyland in Hong Kong. i rate this 8/10 (10 being the most awesome!)
We got hungry and decided to have our breakfast in Grandma Sara's Kitchen before we continue exploring. It is located in Critter Country

food was so so... |
After eating, my little one went back to sleep in her stroller. Hubs and i continued to explore the entire park.
One big feature of Tokyo Disneyland is that it's big... about 114 acres (5x bigger than HK Disneyland!) and it has 45 rides and attractions. Much of the park is open space, seemingly designed to hold as many visitors as possible... Hong Kong Disneyland on the other hand, just don't have enough rides and attractions to keep the average guest busy for more than a day. It has a long way to go before it could be considered a great park...
Due to rain, the Halloween themed parade was cancelled. But they have a rainy day "alternative" parade which was equally fantastic. Here are some of the photos:
colorful moving floats
My daughter was still sleeping so she didn't get to see this. But she have seen Disney parades before as this is her fifth time to go to Disney park.
Big Thunder Mountain and Its A Small World were closed and under yearly maintenance so we headed to Splash Mountain. We were lucky to be able to get fastpass in every attraction that allows it. We didn't wait for more than 10 minutes to get into the ride despite of the big crowd.
Hubs and i decided to alternately take the ride so someone will be left to look after our sleeping daughter and when it was finally my turn i chicken out. So Hubs was the only one to experience this.
According to him the drop isn't very steep, but is certainly has the right height and angle for a memorable fall into the Briar patch. His rating 10/10

Haunted Mansion is among some of Disney's most iconic theme park attractions. A foreboding experience of visiting a terrifying mansion is probably incongruous in a Disney Park, but the mansion presents dark humour and chilly wit in the form of a slow dark ride and elaborate walk through pre-show. The effects were awesome... i rate this 9/10
Other rides that we had taken:
- Peter Pan's flight- great for small kids, boring for adults 7/10
- Snow White's Adventure- this is not fun at all, scary ride! 2/10
- Mickey's Philharmagic- (just like the one in HK)- awesome if it's your first time to see this 9/10
Cinderella's Fairytale Hall 8/10
The kid wanted to dress up as Elsa from Frozen so we brought her Elsa Dress

We stopped for dinner at Blue Bayou. Due to its location adjacent to Pirates of the Caribbean with boats of guests on the attraction floating past the waterfront restaurant, Blue Bayou Restaurant has become a quintessential Disney experience. It strikes an excellent balance between being down on the bayou and well-appointed Southern hospitality (making it both elegant and on-theme). This creates an excellent, romantic mood in the restaurant.

Chef special course Y3290 (HK$215/ PHP 1,234) per person
Roasted Sirloin with Madeira Sauce... comes with unlimited bread
The draw of Blue Bayou is unquestionably the ambience. The experience was memorable. Food was great.
Later in the day, the Typhoon hit, wind and rain became stronger. Train service was suspended from 8pm so almost everyone left early. Good thing we had our hotel bus service scheduled at 10:45 pm, going back to the hotel was not a problem. Only those with hotel shuttle bus service and private cars were left to enjoy the park. We had Disneyland all by ourselves, no crowd, no lines.
I went to Pirates of the Caribbean, i was sitting alone in a 10 seater boat as nobody was there. Hubs was with our daughter waiting for his turn.
This was an excellent ride with an unexpected drop which made me paranoid the whole time. Effects was superb. 10/10 Highly recommended. This is my favorite Disney attraction.
Lastly, we stopped by Toon Town were we get to see the Disney Characters houses.

this was the cherry on top....meeting Mickey Mouse in his house |
Visiting Tokyo Disneyland was such an amazing experience. Even my husband and i enjoyed it. It stirred up the kid in us... We went back to our hotel dead tired but i must say: Disneyland is indeed the Happiest place on earth!
